Dr. Nathan Baxter

Dr. Nathan Baxter was born and raised in a small town in northwest Illinois. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois, graduating with high honors, and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following graduation, Dr. Baxter served for a year and a half in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps in central California, after which he spent three years working for the U.S. Army Veterinary Services in Puerto Rico at a naval base. He later relocated to Southern California, where he worked in small animal private practice for four years. Dr. Baxter eventually moved to Cincinnati, practicing in a private practice and emergency hospital setting for approximately two years before purchasing Cat Care Hospital. He has now been proudly serving the Cincinnati community and practicing feline-focused medicine at Cat Care for over 30 years.

As the practice owner, Dr. Baxter is deeply committed to providing high-quality veterinary care and fostering a clinic culture centered on excellence and respect for the human–animal bond. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Baxter enjoys working and training his Labrador retrievers and pursuing his passion for ballroom dancing.


Dr. Val Dib-Vazquez

Dr. Val Dib-Vazquez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved to the United States to pursue her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at Purdue University, graduating with highest distinction, before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she relocated to Cincinnati and began her career at Cat Care Hospital, where she is proud to practice feline-only medicine.

Dr. Vazquez has a deep passion for cats and a genuine appreciation for their unique personalities, preferences, and needs. She is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based veterinary care while continually striving to improve the veterinary experience for both cats and their people. Her approach emphasizes low-stress handling, individualized care, and thoughtful communication to support each cat’s comfort, emotional well-being, and overall health. She is an active member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association (FelineVMA) and has been Cat Friendly Certified since 2020, reflecting her dedication to high-quality, cat-centered care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Vazquez enjoys spending time with friends and family, her cats and dog, exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping, caring for her plants, and enjoying a great cup of coffee.

By focusing solely on feline medicine, our team is able to provide knowledgeable, consistent care that reflects a deep respect for cats and their individuality.
